CORROSION RESISTANCE

SALT SPRAY TEST

 

The salt spray (or salt fog) test is a standardized test method used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of materials and surface coatings.

 

Tested in adherence to the ASTM B117 - 5% standard, a very thin film (0.42 to 0.45 mils) of EEZOX® and all other products was used in order to provide test conditions that parallel its use in firearms.

 

After 96 hours of rigorous conditions, EEZOX® scored the ONLY  "EXCELLENT" rating - the highest given.

LOAD FACTOR (REDUCTION OF FRICTION)

FALEX TESTING INSTRUMENT

 

The scientifically standardized method for testing the "load factor" or "reduction of friction" of a lubricant is conducted using a Falex Testing Instrument. The pressures are increased under controlled conditions and measured by special monitoring devices.

 

Tested using the ASTM D3233 standard, EEZOX® with only 0.42 - 0.45 mil film thickness achieved a Peak Load "pass" of 4,500 lbs (significantly above 1000 lbs. Mil Spec). This load factor far exceeds pressures found in any firearm, including full automatic machine guns.
